Next steps

The LUX Audience Award has been organized since 2020 by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy in partnership with the European Commission and the Europa Cinemas association. The prize combines the votes of the European public with those of Members of the European Parliament, with both groups having equal weight in determining the winner.

The European Parliament provides subtitles for the nominated films in all 24 official languages of the EU. For the first time in the 2026 edition of the award, these subtitles have been adapted for people with hearing impairments.
